After years of using HP printers both in the office and at home. After having three HPs at home, spending ridiculous amounts of money on ink, and having all three crap out after a few years (the longest lasted five) we decided to find another vendor. Research pointed us at Lexmark.

While we have had the printer set up less than a week I have say it was a marvelous choice.

1. Ink cost is significantly lower than HP thus driving print cost per page down dramatically. This is due to two Lexmark features: automatic two sided printing and the XL (extended life) print cartridges.

2. Set up was very easy. Pop the install CD into the laptop, connect the printer via USB cable and POOF! Done. Once the install was complete connection via secure WI-FI was just as simple.

3. The features of the printer are well thought out and easy to use. Of significant use to our family is the ease of copying documents to PDF.

I highly recommend this printer to any family or small business than needs a complete multi-function printer. Yes, FAX is antiquated, but the occasional use makes the slight extra cost worth it.
