Works fine so far but won't really know until (hopefully never) I get a surge. Has a nice low profile which is why I wanted it. Only complaint is that although the plug is a nice low profile design it is fixed to one side. This didn't work out for me because the cord goes to the right from the outlet but then I have to have it going back to the left. Not a huge deal but if you are really crazy about that stuff you might want to get the kind that has a 90 degree plug that can also rotate to whichever angle coming off the wall you need.
